FROM ACCUSATIONS OF ANGER MANAGEMENT ISSUES, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE TO RESOLUTION: YOUR NEXT STEPS

Have you had anger management issues and been accused of domestic violence, potentially detained by police, released on bail, and barred from returning home to reconnect with your children and partner? This may be highly stressful and you might be wondering what to do next. Anger Therapy London has been helping people with anger management difficulties with domestic violence, and in this post, we will walk you through the next actions you should take to address this issue in the most constructive and time efficient way possible to be considered to have your contact resumed with your children.

WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF ANGER MANAGEMENT ISSUES AND A DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ARREST AND STEPS TO TAKE

Domestic violence is unquestionably a serious criminal offence, and if you have been arrested by police as a result of your anger management issues and domestic violence incident, and you have children, the police will most likely contact social services, a department known as Cafcass, to protect your children from further direct or indirect domestic abuse. Where children are concerned and in order to ascertain whether the child or children are immediately in danger as a result of anger management problems and domestic violence, Cafcass will conduct an evaluation and interview with the father, mother, and children. You may receive an occupation order or non-molestation order during this process, which means that you will not be allowed to go back to your home or get in touch with your spouse or your children, who may be remaining with your children, because of your anger management problems. At this stage, the only way to try to resume contact with your children will be via Family Courts. A form known as C100 must be filled out and turned into the court. In response to that, you could be accused of anger management issues and domestic violence, according to the report from social services interview and the respondent’s response on the C100 form. After that, social services will suggest an anger management course for perpetrators of domestic violence.

The 12-hour Anger Therapy London course is carried out over 12 weeks, and you will complete one hour each week from the comfort of your own home via online video calls at your convenience. You will learn a lot about domestic violence in the course, including how to control your emotions to deal with anger management problems and the effects it has on victims and children. The skills you learn on the anger management course for perpetrators of domestic violence, can help you address the allegations, findings made against you and any issues raised by Cafcass. It is understandable that you are having difficulty being separated from your children and maybe dealing through the breakdown of your relationship during this process; nevertheless, you will be supported and may discover that you will like the course despite this. At the end of the course, you will receive a report outlining your performance and involvement in great detail. Once you obtain this report, email it to the Cafcass officer to demonstrate how you handled your anger management issues and resubmit your application to the family court for assessment of your child arrangement request. If you worked hard, as most of our clients do, it is hoped that your efforts will be recognised and you will be able to restore contact with your children. There are exceptions, and clients who have been coached to lie have been cought, found to be irresponsible, and labelled as manipulative by Cafcass, and subsequently refused to be reconnected with their children, but this is uncommon.
